Summary:

We are searching for a Leave of Absence Manager -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage and administer the leave of absence program and personnel to ensure leaves are formally managed with a high level of engagement and employee satisfaction and provide consultative support for leave management issues that impact the overall operational strategy for the core business functions of the organization and ensure ease of access to leave of absence reporting deliverables for operational units.

Responsibilities :

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise while directing the leave of absence team in accordance with TCH policies and federal legislation and provides guidance and direction to the leave of absence team regarding daily tasks, workflows, escalated issues, and leave processes
  • Develops, implements, and oversees the yearly strategic business plan including the Leave of Absence Program. Leave of Absence Program includes personal leave administration and approval, long term disability claims, unrestricted medical return to work program, HR software leave module management, leave audits, leave escalations, paperless scanning management, and leave personnel training
  • Manages team members and team activities by establishing guidelines for individual and team performance to ensure desired outcomes and to meet department and organization goals. Maintains responsibility for completion of work, ongoing competencies within the team and holds team members accountable regarding accomplishing job responsibilities. Provides performance coaching, training, and development opportunities
  • Accurately tracks and monitors key leave metrics, program data, benchmarking data, goal achievements, and results. Refine and develop new reports to accurately reflect leave of absence program progress, work/task volume, and progress. Creates outcomes-focused management reports and presents results to leadership. Evaluate the effectiveness of current processes/procedures and enhance programs and delivery methods to achieve the desired outcome
  • Develops positive working relationships, coordination of leaves, and effective teamwork with HR departments, Accommodations Committee, Employee Health Teammates including occupational nurses, and key stakeholders to ensure full alignment and integration of leave of absence programs for entire the organization
  • Design and manage Leave of Absence job aids, timekeepers/managers leave training, brochures, FAQs, and other leave related correspondence, documents, and forms


Qualifications:

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years’ experience in human resources, benefits, or leave administration
  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
