We are searching for a Project Manager to support the Government Programs department at Texas Children's Health Plan (TCHP) - someone with knowledge of Medicaid managed care who is detail oriented and works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will lead multiple integrated, complex project(s) with impact across TCHP.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the organization and project management of broad-based department initiatives involving the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

Responsibilities :

  • Serve as project manager for various multi-faceted strategic and state-driven projects
  • Analyze project standards, methodologies, and impacts
  • Serve as the representative on designated workgroups and implementation teams
  • Attend various stakeholder calls to stay abreast of new and upcoming initiatives that the state will be leading and implementing in partnership with Medicaid managed care organizations.
  • Partner with other regulatory departments within TCHP to mitigate risk and manage portions of large scale initiatives
  • Manage requirements of various state-led readiness reviews with HHSC
  • Prepare and analyze project metrics and assist in background research as needed
  • Formulate, administer, and maintain detailed Project Plans, which will include all required activities, tasks, risks, issues, and resources requirements, leading to a successful and timely implementation of various state-driven projects
  • Obtain, validate, analyze, and manipulate data from various internal and external sources to assist in making informed decisions
  • Determine, analyze, and formulate an analysis of workflows, processes, and data regarding current practices, stakeholder needs, and potential improvements
  • Ensure project documentation (agendas, minutes, project plans, presentations, etc.) is complete, timely, accurate, and in accordance with standards and policies
  • Provide regular project status reports in various forums as required
  • Report and escalate issues to the leaders of the department as necessary


Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or other business, healthcare, or science field required
  • 4 years’ experience in business, project management, or healthcare required
  • At least 2 years of Medicaid managed care experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
