We are searching for a Senior EMR Educator -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will recommend and implement strategies for the design, development, scheduling, implementation, presentations, and coordination management and staff training programs for one of the four assigned patient areas of the hospital. The Sr. EMR Educator also has a major role in working with leaders in their assigned areas to ensure that the training strategy and delivery meet the requirements agreed upon by the Training AD and the Operational Business Owners for the assigned area.

Responsibilities :

  • Develops, recommends, and facilitates training plan for assigned Epic related projects, new department implementations, enhancements, and optimizations
  • Works with Training Manager/AD and Project manager to establish training milestones, deliverable dates and resources and track and report deliverable updates
  • Develop/oversee/participate in test plans for training scenarios and new functionality in the training environment to ensure accuracy and synchronization with documentation and production system
  • Works closely with production support to understand requirements workflows and training deliverables
  • Actively participates in testing to ensure training environment stays in sync with Production and reflects the detail requirement specifications for new Epic enhancements, optimization and upgrade cycles
  • Develops a structured, audience specific advanced training program for established Epic users
  • Works with BSAs, Production Support and identified operational end users/leadership to identify and address training needs from end user community
  • Participates in credentialing for End User Trainer, Super User, and BSAs


Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Epic certification or Epic Proficiency required
  • 5 years’ experience teaching adult programs or related work experience particularly in an Epic EMR environment required
