We are searching for a Communications Control Operator -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will answer and direct incoming and outgoing messaging services via telephone, paging systems and in-house communications modes; and to enact emergency and disaster preparedness procedures in support of hospital system physicians, clinicians, and staff.

- Answers and directs incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Provides patient information to callers as allowed under Hospital policy and federal and state regulations
- Assists in the maintenance of up-to-date on-call schedules and contact information for providers and services/departments in paging system and updating appropriate Communication Center documentation
- Conducts research and makes updates in Communication Center systems/applications for contact information of hospital employees/departments/services and on-call schedules
- Updates and maintains daily listing in Communication Center team site with information regarding pager changes and changes in call schedules
- Assists in training of Communication Center Operator staff in the use of the paging system and on-call schedule application
- Assists with maintaining directory database with correct personnel information
- Participates in ad hoc task force(s) to identify and assist in implementing process improvements for the department
- Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience as a telephone switchboard operator preferred
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
