We are searching for a HIM Identity Analyst-- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will serve as primary technical and documentation support and problem resolution specialist on EMR. This role provides a variety of DMR data integrity maintenance functions by identifying, analyzing, and resolving internal and external EMR problems by addressing root causes of problems via the phone, InBasket and email.

Responsibilities :

Job Duties:

  • Maintain departmental service levels with Itrak tickets
  • Provides technical support for hardware and software problems via the phone, email and EMR InBasket
  • Research, resolve and respond to various user requests and inquiries, updating the Help Desk ticketing system on all issues received via, the help desk phone extension, voice mail and email
  • Ensures the quality of the transcription or EMR
  • Edits/corrects documents and distributes to EMRs within 1 business day of receipt with 98 % accuracy
  • Ensure timely and accurate MyChart accounts activations, handles all customer concerns via email and phone, and daily monitors MyChart accounts
  • Ensures appropriate application of customer service protocol, standards and procedures, computer security procedures and protocols and federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in the computer industry by defining a plan to attend technology classes, obtain technical certifications and build knowledge and skills that will assist in managing and supporting the computing environment


Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.



  • Associate’s degree in computer science, business administration, biology or other business, healthcare or science field required
  • 4 years’ experience in EMR applications required
  • Knowledgeable in the use and analysis of HIM patient information systems applications
  • Knowledge of ICD9, rCDIO, and CPT coding classification systems and guidelines
  • Knowledgeable in HIPAA, CMS, Texas Medicaid, and other regulatory agency rules and regulations related to Health Information Management
  • 1-year customer service experience required
