Summary:

We are searching for a Maintenance Technician -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to cover all trades including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, painting, carpentry and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs to facilities to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Demonstrates basic firefighting equipment use
  • Demonstrates knowledge of different types of lube, oils and grease and their application
  • Demonstrates knowledge and uses of different types of fasteners, nail, screws, etc.
  • Maintains documentation to accurately record equipment problems and failures specifically including but not limited to work order completeness
  • Demonstrates knowledge of various system components and functionality such as steam trap, control valve, thermostat, pressure reducing vales, contactors, coils and relays used in basic motor control circuits
  • Ensures effective communication as demonstrated by maintaining good rapport and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers
  • Provides complete documentation as required by management and for authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) specifically including but not limited to work order documentation


Qualifications:

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years’ experience as a general maintenance service-related technician required
  • Hospital experience preferred
