We are searching for an Urgent Care Nurse Supervisor — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll supervise and direct clinical staff and coordinate the daily operations of the organization’s Urgent Care Centers.

Responsibilities :


  • Supervises and directs clinical staff to gather information, assess, and provide direct care to patients
  • Supports nurse manager in developing and coaching competent staff
  • Supports nurse manager in the daily operations of assigned Urgent Care
  • Serves as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to promote high patient, physician, and other team member satisfaction
  • Provides general patient care as needed
  • Assists provider, as directed, during treatments, examinations, and testing within scope of position
  • Supports the nurse managers in daily activities and training staff


  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
  • High school diploma
  • Graduation from a school of nursing
  • Registered Nurses License in the State of Texas
  • Certified Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association
  • 1 year of experience as a staff nurse of LVN
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
  • Knowledge of related regulatory guidelines and requirements, general office tasks, confidentiality, and filing system
  • Ability to use thermometer, scales, sphygmomanometer/stethoscope, scalp vein needles, hearing/vision screening equipment, pulse oximetry, typanometer, basic laboratory, i.e., microscope, centrifuge, hematology analyzer, and specimen collection
  • Proficiency with treatments such as nebulizer, ear irrigation, and dressing changes
  • Familiarity with all business office machines, i.e., computer, multi-line telephone, copier, and fax machines
