Summary:

We are searching for a Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will coordinate the Pre/Post-Bone Marrow Transplant processes needed by patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings

Responsibilities :

  • Executes/monitors the progress of unrelated searches with the National Marrow Donor Program and the Umbilical Cord Blood Bank for each patient
  • Provides patient education as needed to ensure patients and families have complete understanding of HLA tissue typing, donor search and the transplant process
  • Coordinates scheduling of Bone Marrow harvests, operating room time, central line placement, pre-BMT evaluation/ lab results, and post-BMT data collection
  • Orders marrow products and completes forms for Cell and Molecular Therapy (CMT) lab
  • Coordinates/Facilitates additional post BMT therapies, Donor Leukocyte Infusions, second donation and ancillary pharmacologic therapies (immunotherapy)
  • Ensures adequate funding for tissue typing, searches, donor charges and transplants
  • Verifies and authorizes NMDP invoices
  • Opens account in IDX, obtains and enters all HLA, CMT, NMDP charges in IDX


Qualifications:

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant work experience or associate’s degree with 4 years of relevant work experience required
  • Professional experience in coordinating care with third party payers preferred
