Summary:

We are searching for an Assistant Director of Facilities Planning and Project Management -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide management and leadership for the Facilities Planning & Development project management staff in the development, planning, coordination, monitoring and control of construction or renovation projects. You will also provide support to the leadership of Facilities Planning & Development, develop staff accountabilities, and provide project management to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and of appropriate quality in support of the organization’s goals, standards, objectives, and priorities.

Responsibilities :

  • Delegates project management staff assignments and monitors workloads to maintain optimal productivity levels
  • Guides departmental staff in effective and timely action, so that planning and construction conflicts, cost overruns and project delays are avoided
  • Provides planning and management of project delivery on large and complex projects in coordination with the program management teams towards overall project success
  • Supervises the planning and management of project delivery and the coordination with interdisciplinary internal and external teams to guide departmental staff to overall project success
  • Represents facility planning, design, construction and applicable code compliance within the organization’s committee structure
  • Works in collaboration with department leadership to prepare, submit and maintain annual department operational budgets
  • Directs and manages staff, which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, orientation, performance evaluations, and performance management
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities, customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork and effective communication skills and committee or task force participation


Qualifications:

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, Business, Construction, Facilities Management, Interior Design or Architecture required
  • Architect or Engineer license from the state of Texas preferred
  • 6 years’ experience managing projects in the design and/or construction industries required
  • 4 years in a supervisory role (can be inclusive of other experience) required
