We are searching for Operating Room Registered Nurses to join our many highly respected surgical teams.  Are you someone who would work well in an innovative, world renowned Pediatric and Maternal / Fetal Care Organization? 

Responsibilities :

In this position, you will provide excellent nursing care to patients by:

  • Collecting and analyzing data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care 
  • Discuss the patient’s plan of care with family and/or significant individuals and document in the medical record as appropriate
  • Determines which standards of care and practice apply to the patient; coordinate and communicate this information to other health care team members, in order to meet patient needs
  • Implementing an individualized plan of care based on nursing assessment, reflecting the bio-physical, psycho-social, developmental (age-appropriate), cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs of the patient/family
  • Evaluate and document patient’s response to the care provided and recognize the patient’s progress toward meeting the desired outcomes and discuss with the patient/family
  • Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other health care team members
  • Demonstrate appropriate delegation and prioritization skills related to patient interventions and therapies
  • Acts as a resource in educating new employees and other members of the team to ensure the delivery of quality patient care


Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or Associate’s degree or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement required
  • RN license from the Board of Nursing of the State of Texas required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • 1-year professional nursing experience required
  • Operating room experience preferred
