There are now more than 10 Texas Children’s Pediatric primary care practices in the greater Austin area bringing world-class pediatric services to children and their families. Our Specialty Care Center in Austin includes a multidisciplinary group of pediatric specialists committed to providing comprehensive care across a wide spectrum of services, including allergy and immunology, cardiology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pulmonology, neurology, and more. Texas Children’s also plans to build a 360,000-square-foot freestanding hospital for children and women, set to open in 2024.

Summary:
We are searching for a Clinical Nutrition Service Manager -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage the clinical services for inpatient and outpatient areas for pediatric and women’s services to include nutrition assessment and education, patient management and communication throughout the continuum of care, nutrition standards of care and programs, nutrition reference materials, and staff development.

Minimum Qualifications:
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
Experience in pediatric AND women’s services preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Responsibilities:
Implement and manage evidence-based processes and clinical nutrition standards of care for both inpatient and outpatient areas of responsibility
Manage the clinical staff to ensure adequate staffing, patient care coverage, and program/resource effectiveness
Ensure job competence and positive/safe work environment of personnel by the coordination of staff development programs and new hire orientation/competency programs, mentoring of effective leadership skills of senior staff, and the implementation of work climate initiatives
Ensure the delivery of quality, cost effective patient care within a family-centered environment by participating and/or leading at least one performance improvement activity a year which improves patient flow, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction or patient care in collaboration with MC or specific area
Coordinate nutrition care operations by participating in interdepartmental activities, participating on hospital committees, and collaboration with Food Service as well as committee involvement in NCC
Provide nutrition training for medical staff, professional groups and leads implementation of nutrition initiatives in area of responsibility
Provide direct patient care for both children and adults as necessary in accordance with departmental guidelines
