Summary:

We are searching for a Staff Pharmacist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Additionally, you perform the duties of a registered pharmacist. All responsibilities will be performed in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult).

Responsibilities :

§   Prescription (retail and investigational study) fulfillment in Epic Willow Ambulatory (WAM) computer system

§   Patient medication reconciliation

·         Prescription counseling

o   From pharmacy pick up window

o    Remotely, as needed, via phone or telehealth

o   Curbside from 1PFW Pharmacy

o   Bedside as cross-trained to Meds to Beds program

§  Support to inpatient Meds to Bed (MTB) discharge prescription program requiring coordination with: MTB pharmacists, retail pharmacists and technicians, patient nurses, financial counselors/social workers, care coordinators, and providers

§  Patient benefits investigation, insurance adjudication and rejection resolution

§  Billing procedure compliance to avoid billing fraud

§  Drug and supplies inventory management

§  Adherence to policies and procedures to ensure successful Texas State Board of Pharmacy audits, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare audits, Joint Commission accreditation, Insurance company audits

§  Medication management oversight to ensure fiscal/budget accountability and 340B compliance

§  Adherence to hand off communication process to ensure maximum customer service and smooth area operations

§  When staffing batch pharmacy, supervision and verification of technician preparation of sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products

 

Qualifications:

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

· Bachelor’s degree or Ph.D in Pharmacy required

· RPH certification from the state of Texas require
