Summary:
We are searching for Sleep Center Technologist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform sleep studies and document results according to facility policy and procedures. Excellent communication skills are essential for this position. The Sleep Technologist, is primarily responsible for conducting nighttime sleep studies.

Qualifications:
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
High school diploma or GED required
RPSGT certification from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required
Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program) sleep program
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
2 years experience as an RSPGT preferred.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a mastery of technical and procedural requirements to consistently produce high quality neurodiagnostic sleep studies, is able to adapt all procedures to clinical circumstances, monitors and/or eliminates causes of artifact, and consistently and properly labels recordings
Performs neurodiagnostic testing within the Neurophysiology laboratory and as required, in inpatient units according to departmental and AAST standards of care
Demonstrates knowledge of product allergies, movement restrictions and different levels of consciousness the patient may experience
Conducts efficient and accurate scoring, and documenting of sleep studies
Communicates effectively with co-workers, medical staff and other hospital personnel using Situation Background Assessment and Recommendation (SBAR) and critical language methodologies to ensure high quality safe patient care, recording, and scoring of findings that occur during the sleep study
Troubleshoots equipment and reports all equipment repairs as soon as the need is detected to manager, Biomedical Engineering, vendor, or other appropriate and authorized individuals
Re-stocks bedside supplies, and ensures all equipment is in working condition prior to each patient test
Documents patient information in patient’s electronic medical record according to hospital and departmental guidelines
