We are searching for a Manager of Business Operations - Critical Care - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage and lead the daily business and personnel activities and provide administrative support to the Director. Scrutinize all assigned financial reports and determine appropriate operational adjustments to assist with meeting departmental and hospital fiscal goals. Actively collaborate with the Director and Medical Service Chief and/or other key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of optimal quality care in a cost-effective manner, within a family-centered environment and ensure compliance with CMS billing regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides operational coordination. Manages inpatient and outpatient business operations, including referral management, scheduling, authorization, charge entry and billing practice, denial management, and reimbursement. Serves as a liaison between clinicians, physicians, families, nursing staff, and business operations support personnel to promote efficient patient flow, excellent patient/family care centered care, and high levels of customer service
  • Develops and monitors the budget. Demonstrates accountability for cost-effective management of resources while ensuring the department achieves patient care goals. Oversees variance analysis for the Department budgets. Develops and produces reports and data on fiscal activities.  
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, reviews and refines business operation goals and specific charging strategies to ensure optimal reimbursement and compliance with regulatory agencies.  Anticipates regulatory and reimbursement changes to establish strategies for optimizing financial operations
  • Establishes staffing roles, schedules, and productivity guidelines according to patient needs and budget.  Monitors throughout the year and revises as needed. Participates in job description development, interviewing, hiring, coaching, developing, and terminating the employee
  • Ensures the ongoing review and development of process improvements for ensuring patient safety, efficient patient flow, workflow, and customer/employee satisfaction
  • Coaches and develops staff using the performance management system. Ensures effective orientation and professional development for the team

 

Requirements:

  • Required Bachelor's Degree with a preferred Master's Degree
  • 3 years of Business operations or experience in a healthcare environment required (i.e. hospital, outpatient clinic, or physician practice) with preferred previous leadership experience and work experience in pediatrics, rehabilitation therapies, and/or financial business or insurance experience
