We’re looking for a Transport Services Registered Respiratory Therapist, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position you will provide quality respiratory care, treatment and stabilization of critically ill neonatal, pediatric, maternal, and adult congenital heart patients during fixed wing and short- and long-range ground transport. The RRT will collaborate with healthcare team members and associated resource personnel to problem solve and implement respiratory treatment modalities and interventions to maximize patient outcomes. The RRT is committed to safe operations, premier customer service and excellent clinical practice.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
•    Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating respiratory care to critically ill patients including neonates, pediatric and adult patients in an evidenced-based and family- centered manner during transport
•    Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills and evaluate respiratory status of critically ill patients, provide therapeutic intervention, emergency interventions and preparation for transport
•    Ability to clinically assess and recommend the optimal mode of respiratory support including, but not limited to, various oxygen delivery devices, nebulized therapies, airway adjuncts and non-invasive ventilation
•    Establishes and maintains artificial airways during transport
•    Assess for and detect changes in the respiratory status of the patient and demonstrate a proactive approach 
•    Collaborates with other health care team members to problem solve, implement respiratory treatment modalities and interventions to maximize patient outcomes
•    Determines appropriate parameters for mechanical ventilation and monitors effectiveness by blood gas analysis, end tidal CO2 monitoring and pulse oximetry
•    Performs advanced skills and procedures as indicated
•    Assists the transport RN in any medical interventions deemed necessary
•    Provide care under the direction of medical control and within the policies, protocols, guidelines and scope of practice as defined by the State of Texas
•    Maintain complete and accurate patient care records
•    Communicates with medical on-line control regarding patient condition and plan of care during transport
•    Emergently responds and renders aid at the scene of an accident until additional support is available
•    Participates in disaster response as directed
•    Demonstrates commitment and dedication to patients and families
•    Demonstrates commitment to program development and quality initiatives
•    Ensure smooth safe program operations
•    Responsible for maintaining professional development of self and others

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Skills & Requirements
•    Required Technical diploma Respiratory Therapy
•    Preferred associate's degree Respiratory Therapy
•    Required 3 years Critical care experience in a pediatric or neonatal intensive care setting, or Pediatric Emergency Center experience in a Level 1 trauma center
•    Required Licenses
o    RCP - Lic- Respiratory Care - RCP by the Texas Medical Board 
o    BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association
o    RRT-NPS - Cert-Neo/Pedi Rg Resp Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (Required within 4 months of hire) * 
o    PALS - Cert-PALS by the American Heart Association (Required within 4 months of hire) * 
o    NRP - Cert-Neonatal Resusci Prog by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association. (Required within 4 months of hire) * 
o    ACLS - Cert-Adv Cardiac LS ACLS by the American Heart Association (Required within 6 months of hire) * 
o    RRT CERT - Cert-Reg Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care
o    C-NPT - Cert-Neonatal Ped Transport by the National Certification Corporation (Required within 18 months of hire) *
