Summary:

We are searching for a P-Tube Mechanic — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include Pneumatic Tube, Beds, and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. You’ll also have specific duties including maintaining facilities and equipment in the hospital or clinic environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs to facilities to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Perform repairs to failed equipment according to established standards and within acceptable timeframes
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Identify different types of solder and usage.
  • Identify different types of pneumatic tube and bed specific tools and usage
  • Identify different pneumatic tube and bed specific materials and application
  • Demonstrate work quality consistently meets the customers’ needs
  • Demonstrate work quality consistently meets all applicable code requirements
  • Ensure good rapport and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers
  • Complete activities in a manner that maximizes effectiveness of the task and minimizes the impact to the customer
  • Meet minimum hospital policy-defined requirements for attendance and tardiness
  • Ensure effective communication as demonstrated by maintaining good rapport and cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Plan, organizes and coordinate small projects
  • Coordinate work schedule with other departments and shops


Qualifications:

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
  • S. Diploma or equivalent Required
  • 3 years of experience as an equipment-related and/or a bed ervice-related technician Required
  • Hospital experience Preferred
